Do you know the 60/30/10 rule? This is a quick rule of thumb that designers use to make the best use of color in your home. Here is the breakdown:
Walls - 60% of room (prominent color)
30% Textiles (drapes, pillows, area rugs) – supporting color
10% accents.
This is how designers define the color proportions that correctly plan the design of any given room. There are some exceptions (larger open concept rooms, 11 foot + ceilings, etc). Need help? Ask me!
